I hope there will be as much participation as last time (though I have to admit, reaching over 30 entries in the middle of the vacation period might be a bit optimistic - I suppose you've been spoiling me so far

Bring your Type to Life
This may sound abstract at first, but to keep the theme as open as possible, I choose a rather abstract title. There are many directions in which you can go. You could choose an anthropomorphic direction, where you breathe life into letters and give them human or other animate characteristics. Another route would be to create the letters out of living objects, such as plants or animals.
Which direction you choose, maybe even a third or fourth one, does not matter. What matters is that your letters are brought to life!
What kind of letters you bring to life, words, glyphs or sentences, is 100% up to you. This contest has a more visual approach, so you will not be judged on the creativity of the meaning you choose to give to the letters. However, don't rush it! Still life photography usually involves a set up - planning and careful execution of a shot. Food photography in particular takes a lot of preparation and the time to make a dish or an item of food aesthetically pleasing. So I thought it was about time we had a contest involving all elements! Your challenge is to create a brand shiny new Still Life Photography piece that features Food. Now the catch is you must be creative with the food. Is it macabre? Is it fantasy? Is it emotional?

Welcome to our 2012 Photomanipulation Contest, "When Darkness Falls."
This contest is being held by ^SanguineVamp and ~The-Sacred-Space.

Any photomanipulator can join, and all are welcome.

Your task is to complete the sentence:
