What's this about?
Hi, everyone!
A discussion of Daily Deviations (DDs) is always a difficult one to navigate. Some people hold them in very high esteem, while others do not; some people see them as an opportunity to expose new artists, while others want to see the latest work from the masters of manipulation. And most of us want to know where ours is or when it is coming!
Some of the Community Volunteers, led by ^Astralseed, have come together to share some of the "secrets" or "logic" behind what it takes to get a DD and what DDs really are all about. We are going to put together a Project Educate: Daily Deviations week mid-August, and you are invited!
Your input wanted!
We wanted to get started early by finding out what your questions are about DDs, if any, and what you think about them. We're very curious to learn your perspectives because we want to give you a voice in this process. What would YOU like to know more about? What would YOU like to see in PE: DD week? How can we best serve YOU, the photomanipulation community?
We'll take your feedback and compile it, then base our discussions in August off of it.
So, I'd love to have your opinions! You can leave a comment on this blog if you like, or you can send me a note.
Thanks, and happy manipulating!
Jade

It sounds exciting ^^
I think Daily Deviations are part of the community, whether some ignore this feature, or some think it's a highly-desired prize, or some really appreciate the work that it's put into it.
In my opinion, the DD feature is about recognizing talent and creativity, along with quality of the artwork. It may or may not help underrated artists, or people who are really struggling to get their art to a point where they're satisfied with. Of course, when I suggest DDs, I'm looking at the whole gallery of the artist, to see how they've improved, and it's a great way to share unknown works with the community.
I have no questions now, but if something comes up, I'll get back here and ask
