Hello, watchers!

I hope you are all doing well; I have missed you. I have some super exciting things to share with you.

Dr. Me

I haven't been around as much as usual since maybe September because I am finishing up my PhD. I have it completed except for the final oral defense, which is scheduled for July 2nd. After that I'll be "Dr. Jade." :) I am really really excited, okay and a bit terrified, but mostly excited, but terrified. :XD: There will be a huge party and celebration, and I'll do something on DeviantArt to celebrate as well. I hope you will join me.

Photomanip CV

The bigger news as far as you need to be concerned: I am re-joining the photomanipulation gallery and will be working with AbbeyMarie as CV. This means that you can send me Photomanipulation DD suggestions now. I have a few more digital DDs that I'm working through, but I'll be posting photomanip DDs soon.

Photomanip is my love, and I gave it up because last semester I was teaching on top of trying to work full-time and finish my dissertation. I have more time now, having finished the PhD. I may be a bit scarce for the next couple of weeks, as I'm moving to a new city and making final preparations for that oral exam, but I'll still be around.

Project ideas

We have some super cool ideas for projects for the community. I have been wanting to do these for a while but, until now, haven't had the time. They are:

:bulletblue: A mentoring project for new photomanipulators
:bulletblue: A cool scheme for getting new watchers and finding new art to love
:bulletblue: Team competitions/contests, like the Coaching Competition we had a year or so ago
:bulletblue: Ways to bring people who haven't been active back into the community

Also, Incantata and I have a new collaboration project we are going to get moving right away. We're really excited about it and hope you all are excited about the prospect of working with people from other galleries (Digital, Traditional, etc.)!! We'll let you know when this project is operational.

Pimps

Please take the time to check out the following super interesting things:

By the way, in this edition we will open one of our 7 themes to public e choose one of them to be part of our main pack. To participate, follow these steps:
- Make an art based on the virtue Humility;
- Send your artwork with best quality to our email: innersociety.collective@gmail.com, until 07/01.
- In the email message, send a text talking about your artwork and its title;
- take prints of you creation process, it will be a plus for this pack for all members;
Doesn't matter if your art is digital or not.
We want Inner Society to be a collective project with everyone, but we know that's impossible to make at once, so we will always try to promote these kind of interactions, i know that's a too young project, but that's the impression we want to pas

:bulletred: Incredible interview with outstanding artist 3mmI, conducted by ErikShoemaker. This is a rare glimpse inside the brilliant mind of an artist who creates dark and amazing works that speak to many:

Interview with photomanipulator @3mmiPhotomanipulation Week
I would like to welcome Pierre-Alain, as 3mmIa french digital artist and graphic designer based in Nantes, France. He is a long term member of the photo-manipulation community of deviantArt with a fine taste for the dark and the oneiric. For our Project Educate Photomanipulation Week this year he agreed to answer a couple of questions for us.
It's a great pleasure for me to do this interview with him!
Hello Pierre-Alain, thank you for taking the time for this interview. With nine years of activity you are a long-term member of the photo-manipulation community on deviantart. Did your career start right here nine years ago, or did your journey through digital art begin even earlier?
   :icon3mmi:
First, thank you Erik for your questions. To answer you, the first years were for me mainly about practicing, learning, trying, and of course, exploring, discovering. I'm 100% self-educated in art,

That's basically it. If there is anything else you need or want from me personally, please let me know. And if there is anything relevant to the photomanip community we can help with, please let me or Abbey know.

Peace and much love,

Jade
