The Importance of Social SupportSocial support and mental health
Scientific evidence shows that social support can improve or even save our lives, perhaps by reducing the stress that we feel. That could be stress from living with a chronic illness, such as a mental health condition, or stress from work, relationships, and other parts of life that can have a bad effect on our bodies. There may be other ways that having social support helps, too. For example, a person with diabetes may be better able to take medications on time and manage their illness if they have friends and family to support them. It has been proven that people with social support live longer, healthier lives.
Social support also impacts our mental health. Take for example the case of depression and diabetes. People with diabetes are more likely to get depression-- but, studies have shown that people with diabetes who have social support are less likely to get depressed than those who do not have socia

Some stock guidelines for the TournamentHi all,
I've had some questions about what stock is and is not allowed, and I've had to decline a couple of entries so far for stock that does not appear to be legitimate. Therefore, here are some guidelines for what we will be looking for in your stock:
1. Was it obtained from a legitimate place (e.g. from dA or obtained from a legitimate stock site, not lenagold.ru or other site that redistributes stock from the Internet)? Again, Google searches are not legitimate ways of finding quality stock.
2. If it is a premade background, does the stock provider say where they got the photos they made the background out of? It should be their own materials, or they should have explicit permission to use those photos and give them to you as stock.
3. If it is a cut-out, does the stock provider say where they got the picture they cut out and made into a psd or png? It needs to be their own image or an image that they have permission to offer you as stock.
4. If it is from sxc.hu, do you have perm

Please don't try to choose a theme for which there is no stock. That's just mean.
Please NOTE me (Aeirmid) your theme and tell me who it is f

“ The misfirings of my beloved/despised mind that conspire to convince me to destroy all have rendered me housebound and led to a solitary life. Marketing Materials For ArtistsEDIT: Well butter my biscuits, some of my gifs disappeared into the interwebs. I'll remedy this soon!
It’s no secret that us artists aren’t great at selling ourselves. The creative process is so much work it’s easy to assume that your work will be able to sell itself. Sometimes it can, but that’s not usually the case. Even if you aren’t interested in going commercial with your career (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with going that route), it is important have professional materials to present to clients, employers and galleries. If you aren’t interested in being “full time” with selling your artwork, I think it would still be good to consider putting together marketing materials as a means of creating good client relations.
This journal will include a number of things you may need in marketing yourself, but also if you are applying to art schools or for various jobs in art. I would also like to note that you d
Did you know? - Suggesting DDsDD is short for Daily Deviation and is - like the name lets you presume - a daily feature of artworks from different the galleries.
DDs can be featured by Community Volunteers and Staff members.
While browsing it can happen that you come across deviations that you think should be featured as a DD, but how?
First of all you need to take a look at the gallery it was submitted to.
You can find this information in the description area, directly below the artwork itself.
With that category in mind, we are now heading over to communityrelations to take a look at this CV overview. It lists all volunteers and the gallery they take care of.
Beside the overview at communityrelations you can also find the same list at :faq18:
For our example we now need to search for the Photography CVs.
As you can see there are plenty of t

FAQ: Where do I submit book covers?Hiya!
I've seen a few people lately asking where they should submit book covers when they are uploading them to dA. First, they should NOT be submitted to Digital Art > Photomanipulation unless they are simply the image (e.g. they do not have an author, title, etc.).
So, where do they go if they are actually book layouts (with author and title)?
You can submit them here: Designs & Interfaces > Editorial Design.
I hope that helps.
Keep in Touch!
