Here are the correct answers to the Halloween riddles:

The Vestibule

:bulletblack: My moniker came without conclave, but I quickly cast it aside. Never since has my name been repeated. Who am I? [Answer:  Pope Celestine V]

:bulletblack: In life, I embraced neither the darkness nor the light. In death, I am nowhere near either and can only run ragged around this outer vestibule, stung relentlessly by hornets for my lack of judgment. But, I digress. Which olive-toned stone might be of the most use to a Witch who wants results that are . . . otherworldly? [Answer: Moldavite]

:bulletblack: Under me, He suffered, died, and was buried. I did not believe in His guilt, yet served him unto Death most willingly. For that I must suffer. Who am I? [Answer: Pontius Pilate]

Circle 1

:bulletblack: The Poet walked Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso when halfway through his expected journey. What percentage of this expected journey did he actually survive? [ANSWER: 80% (Can be 75-85% because of variation in Dante's birth and death dates)]

:bulletblack: Name the four classical elements of magic and the cardinal directions with which they are associated.

ANSWER:
North: Earth
East: Air
South: Fire
West: Water

We accepted east=fire and south=air also.

:bulletblack: Our purity was the defense of Rome, and despite our need to tend a Flame, lust would grant us death. Who are we? [Answer: Vestal Virgins]

Circle 2

:bulletblack: Find the most sacred epithet of the Wiccan religion, the statement of both power and morality. What is it called, and what does it say? [Answer: Wiccan Rede: An it harm none, do as thou wilt. Also, the Charge of the Goddess (Keep pure your highest ideal, strive ever towards it; let naught stop you or turn you aside, for mine is the secret door which opens upon the door of youth) is acceptable]

:bulletblack: Who is the demon that seduces humanity to Pride? What 3-word alternative name is this demon commonly known as (one of those words begins with an 'A')? [Answer: Belial, Lord of Arrogance]

Circle 3

:bulletblack: Many people think that "Witch" is synonymous with (the same as) "Wiccan," and that is just not true. There are many other paths. In one of those paths, an entity normally associated with Hell by the Christians is actually a beloved god of celestial bodies. Who is this entity? [Answer: Satan / Lucifer]

:bulletblack: In astrology, we believe that it is not only the nine major bodies of our solar system (well, eight now that Pluto has been demoted) that influence our lives and personalities. Rather, we believe that other bodies have influence as well. Some of them have strong influences, where others are more subtle. Some of the most influential ones include Juno, Vesta, and Ceres. What are these entities? [Answer: Asteroids]

:bulletblack: Uninformed minds might consider a certain Tarot card terminal if it appears in a spread, yet to many an informed reader it simply implies transformation. Another card, often read similarly when it is not, in fact, similar, reveals that the querent (person asking the question) will soon be shaken up by the revelation of a truth they did not expect. What are these two cards? [Answer:  Death and the Tower]

Circle 4

:bulletblack: I am one of seven, and when we are not well, you are not well. One of us grounds you, and another one crowns you. I am in between them, a burning, golden-yellow sun of your personal power. What am I? [Answer: Solar plexus chakra]

:bulletblack: Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, guards this dreadful Circle. What was the cryptic phrase that he uttered to the Pilgrim who made this journey and wrote about it in an epic poem? [Answer: pape Satan, pape Satan aleppe]

:bulletblack: I am the first prime number after 100. What number am I? [Answer: 101]

Circle 5

:bulletblack: Upon entering Hell, you cast protective spells and brought amulets to protect yourself against negative energy. There is yet another way, the Kabbalah way, of warding off negativity and protecting oneself against evil spirits. There is a single, simple item you must have with you into the darkest, deepest Circles of Hell to ward off evil. What is it? [Answer: Carry a red string]

:bulletblack: Filled with rage, my heart never rests. It lacks a certain higher energy. This energy is the fourth of ten forces through which it is believed that the Higher Power is revealed. Some traditions see it as a virtue; Kabbalah sees it as a manifestation of divine will. It is the righteousness of the Higher Power, of mercy and benevolence to the world. What is it? [Answer: Chesed (loving-kindness, kindness, or love would be acceptable, too)]

:bulletblack: I am one of 22, a tool of the arcane. To some, I am a beggar; to others, a jester. In your journey, I am you. Remember who you are and stay true to yourself along your journey, lest you become one of me. What am I? [Answer: The Fool (a Tarot card)]

Circle 6

:bulletblack: Grounding, or becoming centered in our energy and rooted to the earth for balance, is a critical first step when one wants to look into the future or obtain better understanding of the circumstances of the present. This shiny black stone helps with grounding. It is often called a "blood stone." What is it? [Answer: Hematite (iron oxide is also technically correct)]

:bulletblack: One method of tapping into divine wisdom involves the use of runes. Which rune, when upright, most closely relates to occult, secret, or hidden abilities? It also relates to the Divine Feminine. [Answer: Perthro]

:bulletblack: This occult practice of divination involves gazing into a reflective object (such as a crystal, mirror, or sphere) to clear the mind of consciousness, thus opening a passage to another world. What is the formal name for this practice? [Answer: Scrying]

Circle 7

:bulletblack: Through me, only in life is death, and only in dying, life. Through me, too much beauty becomes ugliness, and too much ugliness, beauty. Through me, darkness is not known without the light, and day is not day without also night. I am the way. What am I? [Answer: Tao (or Taoism)... OK to spell it Dao]

:bulletblack: I am one of five, a law of the Way. My mantra is ACTION. I am carried forward, but many people misunderstand me. I am not fate, and I am not destiny. I explain inequality, but also talent and success. I am the reason our actions today are so important, the reason you have been brought on this journey. What am I? [Answer: Karma]

:bulletblack: I am ancient and sacred, a source of wisdom and a stepping stone toward knowledge. Eighteen comprise me, and for these I am remembered. I speak of the order of the universe. My path to Brahmin is difficult, and he who is to obtain it must separate the mundane from the sacred. Through my guidance, a wise man can see that identity is broad and that, at our core, we are all one. What am I? [Answer: Bhagavad Gita]

In closing . . .

We are not going to argue about the answers unless there is something huge and glaring that we somehow managed to miss. They were supposed to be a bit vague and difficult; otherwise, everyone would win. :D

I want to give a special thanks to our team backstage for coming up with clues. Special, special thanks goes to 3wyl, Astralseed, and DemonikaDemise for helping with clues and text. When we announce the winners, we will have a full "thank you" journal.

We will have the winners very soon. Thanks for playing!

I got... 7 out of 24, 29% of them right. Well, technically I wasn't able to do 6 and 7, so 7/18...still, not even half. The last person I noted didn't give me an reply in time, so I couldn't finish :saddummy: And I really wanted to complete it, even with most of the answers wrong.

Oh well , better luck next time, I guess.
