Conceptual PhotomanipulationHi all,
While many of us would agree that "good" art tells a story, conceptual art has a concept that transcends the art itself. I wanted to share with you some treasures (some new, some older) I've discovered from the Photomanipulation > Conceptual gallery. Perhaps you will find something new to collect, or perhaps you will be able to see an old favorite with a new eye.

Photomanip Update 12-21-12Hello everyone,
Bringing you holiday greetings and wishes for a new year filled with health, happiness, and artistic expression! Here's what's new in the photomanipulation community.
Official Contest begins in January
We will be kicking off our 2nd official contest on January 15th. The theme has been decided but will not be released until the day of, as we don’t want people to get ahead. You will have 2.5 months to complete your entry. We will challenge you to reach beyond your normal boundaries . . . it is an “Xtreme Manipulation” contest, meaning that you should take your normally awesome skills to the next level. If it involves using a tutorial, do it. If it involves collaboration, by all means do it (just know you will split the prizes). Find your dream and take the time to make it happen. We want to see the best this photomanipulation community has to offer.
The contest will feature 3 categories: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.
Traditional Tuesdays #49    Holy shit! This is the forty-ninth week of this little article, and I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. So.... here is fifteen works of art that I thought you should see. I don't trust all of you all with anymore awesomeness, you might hurt yourself! Anyway, on with the show!

Community Question: "This is a question from me & my fellow photo-manipulators who doesn't use pen tablets. Oftentimes, We struggle in painting the skin. We use the 'smudge' tool but it doesn't work all the time. Realistic skin is hard to fake because it's both an artistic and a technical challenge. It's artistic because you can almost feel a character's personality through the look of its skin; its wrinkles, colours and beauty spots. Is there any techniques where we can achieve beautiful skin?"
