Hi all,
Just a few quick notes. I have been really, really busy with school over the past couple of days, so I am behind on features, news, and replies to the
Positivity Poll I posted a couple days ago.

I will have the Features and News tomorrow (Monday, July 23rd). I've got some great features for you this week!

I will work on those positivity responses to that poll (What is, in my opinion, the BEST thing about your art?) over the next couple of days. I am SO excited that there was such a great response, but it is going to take me a while to get through all 70+ of them because I want to be thoughtful about each one. (It's not too late if you want me to look at your gallery. I am ONLY doing positives-- no negative critique whatsoever. No reason to be worried.)

Advanced photomanipulation month is going to be OCTOBER, not SEPTEMBER, to allow for better planning AND to allow us to do it in conjunction with Halloween.

Halloween is going to be fang-tastic. More details soon.
I am aware of the general unhappiness with the "inflations" (blow-up boob/butt shots), explicit images, celebrity images, and (recently) decapitations in the photomanipulation gallery, and deviantART staff are also aware. Please don't think no one cares or nothing is being done about it. At the moment, the only tool you and I have in our pockets is to report them, but that doesn't mean we need efforts to mass-report them.
On a related note, I'm just a volunteer; it's not in my purview or ability to remove them, though I do my best to serve as a bridge between the community (you) and the staff of dA. Please know I hear you and am doing what I can to help your voice be heard. Being the liaison is my priority, but, again, I cannot police the gallery or remove deviations.
Here is an article about what CVs do. Thanks for understanding.
I am also aware (and a victim of) the copyright infringements that have been going on, especially on Facebook. All we can do about those is have the original artists report the stolen work to Facebook. I am working to learn everything I can about copyright and will share what I learn with you.
Hang in there, guys!

I love this community (and you) more than you know, and together, we are going to keep photomanipulation beautiful.
OK, more soon!

copyright stuff is nuts lately. it seems people can't even buy stock to make premades because said stock....wasn't stock but art/photographs. i learned that this past week when i had one of my things removed cuz of such.... it felt shitty, probly why i'll never use premade stock stuff again.
For premades, yeah, make sure you are checking the source of the photographs. I'm even leery about "all stocks my own" these days, though obviously that's impossible to disprove almost. Grrr.
I think we all know it doesnt depends on you so dont worry
You are doing great
