The King of Fairyland is seeking first-class detectives to solve a top secret case for the Monarchy. According to an inside source, a member of the Royal Family was brutally murdered last night, though the King has been loathe to comment on the tragedy. All Royal affairs seem secretive and obscure as darkness falls, both literally and figuratively, upon our magical kingdom. All we know is that a great search is underway for any and all detectives in Fairyland and surrounding regions. No doubt, the detective who successfully completes the unknown task to be set before him (or her) will be rewarded richly.

Qualifications sought

A successful detective will be secretive, able to work independently of others, and able to ask the right questions of the right people. He or she will need to know good from bad, right from wrong, lest they get tricked onto the wrong path. He or she will need to work quickly, as the King would like to wrap up this case within three weeks of the start date (October 11th), and there will be a lot of competition. The detective will have to be patient in interacting with all citizens of Fairyland, from the princesses to the monsters. Finally, the detective must have a special passion for Halloween.

What you will have to do

You will have the opportunity to talk to many of the citizens of Fairyland. Some of them might be nice enough to give you clues. Others might lead you astray. You will have to solve some puzzles and riddles along the way. When you reach the end of the path, you can give the King your guess as to who the murderer is. Be careful if you're wrong . . . or if you're last!

You will be scored based on how well you do on the puzzles, riddles, and other tasks and on how accurately you solve the murder. Finishing rank may also be taken into consideration.

The prizes

There will be 3 winners for the murder mystery part of the game. The grand prize is 3,000 dA points plus prints. There will also be an (OPTIONAL) art creation contest when the detectives are finished. The grand prize for that will be 1,500 dA points plus prints.

How to apply

The King would like the investigation to begin on October 11th at 12:01 AM US Pacific Standard Time. To register as a detective, all you have to do is join or watch Halloween-HQ and await further instructions on how to play the game.
